The North Okanagan Knights continue to emerge from their mid-season slump with two wins and a loss last week.
The boys took to the ice in Sicamous Wednesday evening, defeating the Eagles 4-2 on their home turf. Blaine Caton of the Knights started things off in the first, scoring the only goal of the frame off a feed from Dryden Profeit. The Eagles managed to tie it up midway through the second before Dennon Leibel earned a late period goal, assisted by Caton and Logan Geefs. The local boys furthered their lead in the third, when Tanner Cochrane scored, assisted by Blake Culbert and Logan Mostat. Sicamous earned one more, taking advantage of a power play, before the Knights shut them down with a final goal from Austin Garrington off Ryley Booth and Culbert for the 4-2 win.
The North Okanagan Knights PeeWee Tier 4 team shone in exhibition play last weekend, leading a crusade against the Salmon Arm and Summerland teams.
Saturday afternoon saw the Knights dominate the Salmon Arm Silvertips 8-3 at the Nor-Val Centre in Armstrong. Salmon Arm opened the scoring early, following it up with a second goal midway through the period. However, with just three minutes left, Eli Dwyer put the Knights on the board off a feed from Griffin Evans.
The second saw the Silvertips put one more in the net before the Knights finally found their game. Late in the period, Brandon Matvenko scored, assisted by Dylan Huber, but the Knights were still down by one heading into the third.
Impressive break. Blake Rozenberg, left, 5, and Aden Goldie, 8, from the PMA Enderby Club participated in a board breaking event recently in Salmon Arm. The event drew 50 participants from Enderby, Salmon Arm and Sicamous. For information about the martial arts club contact Holly Raczynski at 250-253-2406. (Submitted photo)
